CARDIFF SIGN MUTCH

Championship club Cardiff city have secure the signing of Birmingham city midfielder Jordon Mutch, as they look to gain promotion to the Premier league after many seasons of pain in the play-offs. Cardiff city have been eliminated from the play-offs on numerous occasions in the last few seasons.

However, new investment from the south-east Asian owners mean that they will remain in contention for the next season as well. They have moved on to secure the signing of Jordon Mutch, which is their first major statement of intent this season. The Malaysian investor has already said that he will be making around £ 100 million of investment into the club in the next two seasons, so that they can compete with the likes of Man City in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old Jordon Mutch has not been the first team regular for Birmingham city ever since joining the club back in 2007. However, he will be hoping that his ability will be used much more at Cardiff city next season. Cardiff recently made the decision to play in the red colour on the grounds that it will be much more financially viable due to the increased commercial revenues that the club hopes to achieve from Asia. Jordon Mutch has played for the likes of Watford, Doncaster and Hereford before signing for Birmingham city.

“I’m delighted that we’ve managed to bring Jordon in here at Cardiff City. Jordon is a top player with great potential for a big career in the game, a bit like Jack Wilshere, which we hope to see him fulfil with us here at Cardiff City. He’s a talented player who I know well, both from my time working with him back at Watford and from the progress he’s made at Birmingham City. Jordon will no doubt make a great addition to the squad that we are building here in south Wales,” said Cardiff manager Mackay.
